Sportage Hybrid

2023 introduces the Sportage Hybrid. Its 1.7-liter Turbo Hybrid Powertrain brings an impressive 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The Hybrid offers 42 miles per gallon in the city and 44 miles per gallon on the highway: 43 miles per gallon combined. With the option to use gas, all-electric, or combined, the plug-in Hybrid gives you whatever options you need to get you there as efficiently as possible.

Better Engine Performance

The 2023 Sportage has increased power and performance over the 2022 model. With a new 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, 2023 increases from 2022’s 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Paired with the new 8-speed automatic transmission, compared to the former 6-speed, the 2023 engine offers improved performance and efficiency.

Increased Fuel Economy

Despite the increased engine output and slightly larger body, the 2023 Sportage has increased fuel economy over past years’ performance. The 2023 Sportage gets 25 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway, with 28 miles per gallon combined. In 2022, the Sportage got 23 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 miles per gallon in the city, and 26 miles per gallon combined.

New Instrument Display

The redesigned Instrument Cluster in the 2023 model adds a second 2.2-inch Instrument Display to the 8-inch touchscreen display found in the 2022 model. With improved integration of navigation, diagnostics, and entertainment, the additional display works with the original display in the console to offer panoramic screens. With custom themes that adjust to fit different driving modes, the instrument cluster offers both improved functionality and user experience.

More Cargo Space

Kia added an extra seven inches in length and one inch in height to the 2023 Sportage. This translates into an extra 14.1 cubic feet of cargo space, up to 74.1 cubic feet, with the rear seat folded down in the 2023 model, compared to 60.1 cubic feet in 2022. With the rear seat in position, there are 39.1 cubic feet vs. 30.7 cubic feet, respectively.

Off-Road Options

The 2022 Sportage didn’t offer an off-road package, but the 2023 model brings the X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige. Offered with standard All-wheel drive and BFGoodrich All-Terrain Tires, along with an extra 8.3 inches of ground clearance, the X-Pro is ready to go off the paved roads.
