Lanham, MD Dealer Takes You Behind the Scenes of the Kia Manufacturing Process: Building Kia Models in West Point, Georgia

Welcome to the Plantleft front angle of a blue 2024 Kia Telluride | Lanham, MD

Kia’s facility in Georgia is a special place. The manufacturing site is lovingly referred to as “The Plant.” The Plant is the only auto manufacturing facility in Georgia and Kia’s only vehicle production center in the US.

Quality Cars Made in the USA

The Plant specifically produces three models: Telluride, Sorento, and Sportage SUVs. In the future, the facility will also be working on the EV9 line. These models are produced around the clock to meet market demands worldwide.

The Plant produces 350,000 vehicles per year. These automobiles are distributed in Canada, Mexico, The Middle East, Pacific nations, and throughout the United States of America. If you ever want to see this manufacturing marvel for yourself, make sure to book a tour in advance.

Working With Sustainability in Mind

Kia believes we have a social responsibility to help reduce our impact on the environment and we’re working toward building an environmental management system. At Kia, we also believe our workers are our heart and soul and are committed to caring for our workers and neighboring communities.

Workers at The Plant know that taking care of the planet starts by taking care of their team members. Regular risk evaluation and assessments are made to help prevent injuries and ensure all workers have a healthy work environment.

Striving to Lead Auto Manufacturing Innovation

Kia Georgia’s manufacturing facility has laboratories where we seek to uncover more ingenious ways of producing your next favorite car. The Kia Georgia Training Center labs develop cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and train team members in robotics, electronics, welding, and other manufacturing processes.

Kia works with local technical colleges to provide internships and other opportunities to students in the area. Building cars takes a lot of work, and by providing opportunities to qualified students in the area, Kia, student interns, and local colleges all benefit.

By supporting communities, we can increase sustainability and quality. Kia is constantly innovating to produce even better vehicles. Visit DARCARS Kia of Lanham to see The Plant’s handiwork for yourself!
