Kia updated the front-wheel and all-wheel drive options for 2023. Only the GT-Line trims will offer the option for upgrading to the all-wheel drive.
Engine Performance
The base engine is a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower. It is paired with an 8-speed, automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The two GT-Line trims offer drivers a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive and the same engine as the base.
Drivers who want more power will like the GT trim with its 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, 290 horsepower engine. This engine is paired with an 8-speed, dual-clutch, automatic transmission classified as the wet type.
Exterior Styling
The K5 comes in five different trims. The base model, the LXS, comes in five different colors, Ebony Black, Everlasting Silver, Glacial White Pearl, Gravity Gray, and Red Passion Tint Coat.
Drivers who want a brighter color may consider one of the other trims to get Sapphire Blue. LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels are standard. The 18-inch alloy wheels with various finishes are available on other trims while the GT comes with 19-inch wheels.
Interior Features
The K5 excels with its interior options, offering a whopping seven different color choices for its interior. The basic interior trim is a Black Cloth Seat Trim while other options include Red SynTex Seat Trim and Ash Blue SynTex Seat Trim. The GT offers heated, bolstered front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Safety and Technology
Safety is an important feature of the K5 with standard features like the Blind Spot Detection Technology, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and Auto Emergency Braking Technology with Pedestrian Detection. Features like Drive Mode Select with Snow Mode and Lane Keeping and Following Assist Technology are available in other trims.
The standard infotainment system comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Drivers who upgrade to the EX or GT trims can expect a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Navigation, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, and the Kia Connect app are included in these two trims.
